Hi, I’m Mac McLean and I am a voice artist.
I would like to tell you that I’m a voice actor, but my only thespian experience was in the role of a tree at a school play in early childhood. Needless to say, my role had no speaking part, and I have been making up for my drama teacher’s oversight ever since.
Truth be told, my introduction to voice work happened by pure chance many years later when I was invited to audition for an already well-established radio show whilst working as a Sound Engineer at a media production house.
At the time, the radio show boasted the highest listenership on national FM radio and to my utter surprise, and to others in the industry, my audition was successful.
So, there I was… prior to my audition, no one had even heard of me, short of family, a few friends and my dog… then overnight, my voice was beaming into the majority of households across the country every week! A pretty lucky break!
That radio show led to other sponsored radio programmes and also more voice work including, TV and radio commercials, documentaries, movie trailers, whiteboard explainers etc., etc.,
Describing one’s own voice is a bit tricky. I guess I could say it’s deep, resonant, seductive, gritty and believable with a mid transatlantic accent… but you can decide for yourself by listening to my demos.
In addition to doing voice overs, I am an experienced sound designer and with the use of a broad spectrum of software applications, I can add value to your voice over requirements.
My turn-around is fast, slick and professional and if I can help you with your next voice over project, I would be pleased to hear from you.
Thanks for dropping in.
All projects I undertake are different, so it’s best to get a free quote from me so I can better understand your needs & tailor to your budget.
Depending on the scope of the voiceover project, I can usually turnaround a project in less than 24 hours, possibly sooner.
Depending on the project, I charge both commercial rights OR broadcast rights that offer proper usage.
I work from a home studio fully kitted a Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 3rd Generation sound card, with Sennheiser 416 rifle mic, and a Neumann TLM 103 Condenser mic. I edit with Adobe Audition.
Absolutely! I have done plenty of live direction recordings whilst the client gives me feedback. I can connect through skype or google hangouts for live calls.
I have no problem with that BUT please note that I will only record up to 25 words and possibly omit a few keywords.
Yes I do both! Of course, for an additional fee.
I can definitely do so! I can mix balance the soundtrack and also edit the voiceover to the video with the use of Adobe Premiere Pro & After Effects. However, there are additional costs for this service.
